Municipal and county officials joined Sen. Lowell Barron at two separate press conferences today to emphasize the need for the Road and Bridge bill Barron has introduced in the Alabama State Senate. The bill would present a constitutional amendment to the voters in the November General Election that, if approved, would invest $100 million annually for 10 years from the Alabama Trust Fund into road and bridge projects across the state. Local officials are supportive of the measure because $25 million each year would be distributed to counties and cities to invest in much-needed infrastructure improvement.
